Conversational philosophy
c. 1990 – present
The newest period of African philosophy, in which thinkers developed original systems and methods of their own, notably the "conversational" philosophy of the Calabar School.
The newest era of African philosophy, which took shape around the turn of the millennium, is marked by the conversational movement. Its centre is the University of Calabar in Nigeria, where the Conversational or Calabar School developed new methods and systems built on the principles that things are related, that relationships arise in contexts, and that apparently opposed ideas can complement each other.
